When I saw this young rhino sitting down in Nakuru National Park it reminded me of my rottweiler 'Chester' back home and knew I wanted to use the delightful curving shadow along this rhino's back in a drawing. Whilst I was considering the options for layout of the three poses I had chosen I read an upsetting article about poaching and decided to make this drawing in a vertical format like that of a news story.
