'Counting Lions' has been shortlisted for an award
I am really excited because my first book 'Counting Lions' has been shortlisted for the 2016 English 4–11 Picture Book Awards. The awards are presented by the English Association and the shortlist has been chosen by primary school teachers and primary specialists; so it's a great recognition of the educational value of the book.
One of the primary reasons Virginia Mckenna wanted to be involved in the book was because of her wish to educate people and young children in particular about both the numbers crisis many wild animals face and the beauty to be found in the natural world. Winners are announced on the 11th May.
